It’s been at least a year since I last read a Matthew Reilly novel。 His books are like comfort food to me at this point and I have enjoyed every single one of them。 I’m used to them being very fast paced and filled with tons of action and in this regard The Two Lost Mountains did not disappoint at all。 His writing style is very simple but it is so engaging with its edge of the seat pacing that once the story gets going it’s hard to stop reading。This is the 6th book in the Jack West Jr series and It’s been at least a year since I last read a Matthew Reilly novel。 His books are like comfort food to me at this point and I have enjoyed every single one of them。 I’m used to them being very fast paced and filled with tons of action and in this regard The Two Lost Mountains did not disappoint at all。 His writing style is very simple but it is so engaging with its edge of the seat pacing that once the story gets going it’s hard to stop reading。This is the 6th book in the Jack West Jr series and it picks up right where the Three Sacred Cities left off。 I recommend this series to anyone who wants to read a action thriller movie in a novel format。 。。。more

Another fast paced, action filled novel by Matthew Reilly!Would love to see this as a TV Show。。。Definitely heading towards the end, but it's good to see all the references placed throughout the novels appearing in this one! Explosive action and non stop thrills。 Matthew Reilly has done it again。 Lifting me out of the slump of a pandemic to race around the world by the end of a mag hook。The Jack West jnr novels always go big and again he faces challenges greater than the last story。 From bells that knock people unconcious, to armies of metal automatons if you can dream it, it's probably in this story。Highlights include the return of assassin Aloysius Knight who tells stories about how he got his stealth ship。 A shoo Explosive action and non stop thrills。 Matthew Reilly has done it again。 Lifting me out of the slump of a pandemic to race around the world by the end of a mag hook。The Jack West jnr novels always go big and again he faces challenges greater than the last story。 From bells that knock people unconcious, to armies of metal automatons if you can dream it, it's probably in this story。Highlights include the return of assassin Aloysius Knight who tells stories about how he got his stealth ship。 A shootout in the Vatican。 And a return the the ancient ruins of Egypt。 All set for the final book in December 2021。 。。。more

I just finished this book and when I logged back into Goodreads to update my status, I noticed one reviewer describing it as "batsh*t crazy"。 With all respect to that reviewer, I can't do any better than that。 Like all of Reilly's books, this one is non-stop, edge-of-your-seat exciting, but it all starts to get pretty tedious after a while。 I mean how many life-and-death experiences can such a large group of characters have。 (and, I mean a LARGE group of characters) The other thing that really b I just finished this book and when I logged back into Goodreads to update my status, I noticed one reviewer describing it as "batsh*t crazy"。 With all respect to that reviewer, I can't do any better than that。 Like all of Reilly's books, this one is non-stop, edge-of-your-seat exciting, but it all starts to get pretty tedious after a while。 I mean how many life-and-death experiences can such a large group of characters have。 (and, I mean a LARGE group of characters) The other thing that really bothered me is the preternatural omniscience of, not one, but all of the bad guys in this book。 Come on, Matthew, give the good guys a break now and then。I think I've read everything that Reilly has written and this book is, by far, the most over-the-top effort yet。 Will I read the last book, "One Something Something" in the seven-book series? Oh, I'm sure I will but I can't say that I will be sad to see the series go bye-bye。 。。。more

Jack West, Jr continues to try to save not just the world, but the entire universe。 Of course, he is constantly outmanned, outgunned, and lagging far behind。 Reilly’s writing is hyperbolic, intense, and wildly entertaining。

As awesome as his initial books are, I feel both the Three Secret Cities and The Two Lost Mountains were a bit lack lustre。 Hoping the final book makes up for it all。

OK, this was about the stupidest book I've read in a long time。 But stupid in a good way。 Like the Fast And Furious movie series。 Or The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends, though more gritty and grim。 Things happen in just the nick of time。 And a lot of things, like St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, get blown up。 Evidently this is an enormously popular series。 It even has its own fandom Wiki Website。 Fun but enough for this old man。I think my neighborhood library miss shelved thi OK, this was about the stupidest book I've read in a long time。 But stupid in a good way。 Like the Fast And Furious movie series。 Or The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends, though more gritty and grim。 Things happen in just the nick of time。 And a lot of things, like St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, get blown up。 Evidently this is an enormously popular series。 It even has its own fandom Wiki Website。 Fun but enough for this old man。I think my neighborhood library miss shelved this too。 I think it should have been in the sci fi and fantasy area, but it was on the shelves labeled simply ¨new fiction。¨ I thought it was a serious novel about archaeology? 。。。more

First of his novels I rated less than5I’m just tired of Winnie the Poo, the green knight et。 al。 I find myself actually rooting for the “bad guys”。 Please kill more of them off。 You killed poor Chickie on Scarecrow。 And enough with the Catholic Church bashing。 Assassin Nuns on motorcycles? Btw my 8th grade nun would crush them。 So I’ve decided。 I’m rooting for Cardinal Mendoza。

Oh this book series is always such a fun ride。 It almost acts like a palette cleanser for me。。。 Just a fast-paced action adventure thriller that makes you want the next book the second you finish it! A satisfying penultimate in the Jack West Jr。 series。 With loads of action and emotion。 I love how Mr。 Reilly isn't afraid to kill off characters for that emotional gut punch (or bring them back to life in the nick of time)。 I also really appreciate how he weaves together mythology and history for a very intriguing plot。  A satisfying penultimate in the Jack West Jr。 series。 With loads of action and emotion。 I love how Mr。 Reilly isn't afraid to kill off characters for that emotional gut punch (or bring them back to life in the nick of time)。 I also really appreciate how he weaves together mythology and history for a very intriguing plot。  。。。more
